Description
Thermal envelope renovation of the high-rise building (IGH) of the Faculty of Pharmacy at La Timone (37 meters high), which includes training rooms, research laboratories, lecture halls, documentation areas, and technical premises.
Project Objectives:
- Improve the building’s image with a renewed appearance while preserving the existing heritage that defines the building’s identity:
- Replacement of 6,000 m² of exterior joinery
- Façade offset outward while retaining the existing wooden façades (only the glazed parts are removed)
- Significantly reduce energy consumption
- Installation of 450 m² of photovoltaic panels
- Improve thermal comfort control:
- Hybrid VRV heating system providing heating and cooling all year round, independently on each terminal (some lab areas require cooling year-round)
- Decarbonize energy sources
- Control investment and maintenance costs
- Address fire safety constraints related to a high-rise building constructed before current IGH regulations
- Commissioning mission and project monitoring
